About Our Laboratory

Our laboratory facility is a state of the art CLIA certified pathology lab. Here, skin tissue is processed and examined primarily for the presence of skin cancer. Both skin biopsies and standard surgical skin specimens are evaluated by either ADAS dermatologists or consultant dermatopathologists.

We also process Mohs Surgery specimens in our lab as part of the unique service that we offer to our patients in Jacksonville, Ponte Vedra Beach and Fleming Island.

In total, our lab processes about 2000 skin samples a year.

We follow strict regulatory guidelines and utilize consultant dermatopathologists to confer on difficult cases. This helps our lab to stay in compliance with quality assurance and peer review protocols that are very important in medicine today.
