About Dr. Harvey

After completing medical training at Harvard and Washington Universities, Dr. Harvey undertook a primary care internal medicine residency at the University of Rochester, in New York State followed by a dermatology residency at the University of South Florida College of Medicine in Tampa. He is board certified in both Dermatology and Internal Medicine. As of July 1, 2009, Dr Harvey will be completing a one year fellowship in Procedural Dermatology at the University of Texas Southwestern in Dallas, Texas.

Previously, Dr. Harvey has served as Presidents for both the Florida Society of Dermatologic Surgeons and the Florida Society of Dermatology and Dermatologic Surgery. Dr Harvey is currently on the Board of Directors for the American Society of Mohs Surgery and is a peer reviewer for that society. Academically he teaches advanced dermatologic surgery for residents at the University of Florida and South Florida.

Dr. Harvey has noted experience in cosmetic and dermatologic surgery. His expertise lies in the field of laser surgery. Dr. Harvey instructs and lectures nationally in such procedures as fractional resurfacing, photodynamic therapy, filler therapies and skin cancer surgery. He is a member of several professional organizations and societies including the American Society for Mohs Surgery, the American Academy of Dermatology, the American Society of Dermatological Surgery, the Florida Society of Dermatology and Dermatological Surgery, the American College of Physicians, the American Society for Laser Surgery and Medicine, the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery, and the Jacksonville Dermatology Society. He has authored over 16 scientific articles and textbook chapters in the field of skin cancer, cosmetic dermatology, aging skin and environmental medicine.

Dr. Harvey currently resides in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida with his wife Nina, daughter Emma and son Andrew. His hobbies include running, and instrumental guitar.
